I've been circling this book for a couple of weeks now, intrigued by the title and the notion of modern, original fairy tales. Yesterday I was startled to learn that the title comes from a Charles Manson quotation: "These children that come at you with knives, they are your children. You taught them. I didn't teach them. I just tried to help them stand up."
