Sean is directing a play that includes a number of scenes in which the actors eat various desserts. Knowing my love of baking, he asked me to be food stylist and I happily accepted the position. I've been trying out recipes and sending them along with him to use in rehearsals; so far I've been successful with creme caramel and an orange-scented cake with chocolate cream cheese frosting. Tonight I made an apple strudel for his Monday night rehearsal. It was my first experience using puff pastry, and even though the above photo makes the finished product look more like a giant hoagie than a dessert, I think the results were fabulous. The recipe is from the December issue of
Cooking Light and can be found
here.
